Greg Carmack

    Greg Carmack
Greg Carmack is the mastercraftsman and owner of Carmack’s Custom Cowboy Boots & Shoes located in Waco, Texas. Greg began his career at age 12 when he asked a local bootmaker if he could do chores around the boot shop after school. It did not take long for the bootmaker to notice Greg’s natural ability with leather, and he was soon learning how to build cowboy boots as a bespoke apprentice.

Throughout high school and college, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Greg continued his apprenticeship and reached the level of a mastercraftsman bootmaker at a very young age. In 1997, his mentor and teacher retired from bootmaking, and Greg took over the business. Since that time, he has honed his craft and is sought out for one of his specialty areas - intricate inlays. Greg also expanded his talent with leather and taught himself how to build custom shoes. Making boots and shoes is more than a job to Greg – it is a calling and an art that is very demanding and requires intense concentration and long hours. When he is not at his shop, Greg and his wife Jennifer and son Cyress enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing
